Every time I see a Charlie Brown Christmas tree I wonder: are we not all Charlie Brown trees? In our own way? Could we all not use some love, attention, acceptance, and metaphorical decorations? It was a thought to ponder on as I observed and appreciated the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree decorations that adorned a few of the tables at my public library. It could be a good day, a bad day, a rough year, or just a whole rough stage but here we are.

If we are in fact all Charlie Brown trees… isn’t that a good thing? Does that recognition not place us in that state of accepting ourselves as is right in this moment? If we have that acceptance then we can recognize all the decorations that we have put on. Each life stage and every person we were has added their own decorations.

Think about it. How do we decorate ourselves?
What if the…

Garland was there to mark different ages and stages.
Tinsel could be every act of kindness we have given or received.
The assortment of ornaments are the mementos we carry from all our travels and experiences.
The special glass ornaments are there to mark those important events or mark the memories of those we have lost along the way.
The lights every act of self-love we have done and are doing every day.
The star on the top is a symbol of the love of ourselves.

I don’t know about you… but I think we are pretty damn beautiful. Brightening the world with our sparkle and lights.
