1. The temperature is starting to warm up which only means one thing spring is eventually coming! Even as the temperature drops again I will remember this warm glow. (You know you are Canadian if you know what fake spring is. LOL)
  2. The colour in the skies is beautiful. Instead of the usual gray dark fluffy clouds we have clouds that are starting to have brilliant whites and hints of blue. The blue skies that keep appearing just continue to lift my spirits in anticipation of spring.
  3. The sunshine! Winter sunshine is lovely and brilliant of course. But this sunshine is different. Instead of hiding behind the winter clouds it is starting to make brilliant appearances that are blinding. (Not to be mistaken with the blinding of sunshine on ice snow.)
  4. The puddles although seeming to be a downside (eww wet socks and shoes) it means things are melting and if I am almost home it means I can jump in puddles! It is like capturing just a sliver of a moment of childhood when this was the most joyful things we could spend our time doing.
  5. Crunchy Ice! One of my favourite things is stepping on the crunchy ice and listening to the delightful cracking under my feet. Definitely a positive sprinkle. Perhaps crunchy ice is like the windchimes of spring.
  6. Layers can be carefully left at home as the temperature is chilly but no longer skin burning cold. With the lack of layers a smile has to find its way to my face at the delight of not wearing so many clothes.
  7. Melting melting melting. Everything is melting! Just imagine! Spring is coming and with it green and flowers. Proof that everything has its time and place.
  8. The birdsong is so lively and joyful sounding. Even if I am having a rough day a small smile will grace my face at their sound. Their song reminds me that life is growing and shifting with seasons so enjoy this moment. I just have to stop for a short moment to listen to them sing.
  9. Every once in awhile I can open the windows and let the fresh air breeze into the house. It clears out all the energy and stuffiness that has been building all winter. After the breeze comes through there is a wonderful sense of clarity and rejuvenation that isn’t just outside it is now inside!
  10. When I get up in the morning to do my yoga the sunrise is more brilliant that ever. It greets me with gorgeous colours as I move through my poses through my window.
  11. I find humour in the contradictions that are finding places in stores. Aisles of shovels and sidewalk salt are not far from displays of BBQs and patio furniture. It makes me laugh every time.

Bonus: As I am writing this I got a notification that my location is under a snowfall warning. I am just sitting here chuckling at the irony combined with the list’s focus of spring arriving. And now as I am finished editing the sunshine is gone, the clouds have moved in, and it is snowing.
