Picture this… the theme music begins for one of your favourite TV shows or the pages open on one of your favourite books. As we watch or read we see our favourite heroes face adversity and end up rising to the challenge in an unexpected way that even themselves seem surprised by. And we smile and we cry along with them as they rise above and accomplish the challenge given to them.

Now put yourself into your show. View your current struggle, challenge, or pit fall into the plot line of your current episode. What would you want your character to do now? How would you imagine this character facing this? What tools doe the character have at their disposal? What difference choices could be made that would change everything? What do you wish to see happen?

By stepping back from your own life you can see a different perspective. I have read often that we get into these ruts of beliefs or perceptions that completely blind us to possibilities, opportunities, and possible solutions that are right there.

As your character goes through the next series of episodes of your show you are consciously building your own “humble but reasonable confidence” that will serve you now not just immediately but going forward in your future.

Call to Action:

  • What would you name your TV show?
  • What is your theme song?
  • What song(s) are playing when your character has a comeback moment?

Every time you feel like you are faltering you can play your theme song or comeback song to get a real rush to keep going to keep creating your life.

Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.
