Goal: To turn inspiration into action with simple, concrete ways to contribute to the community.
1. The Community Pantry
Food security is a vital way to support your neighbours. You can participate in local initiatives like the Regina Community Fridge, which operates on a “take what you need, leave what you can” model. It is a low-barrier way to help: simply buy an extra time during you next grocery trip and donate it. Local food banks are also always looking for friendly faces to help lend a hand.
2. Youth Mentorship
Public libraries offer wonderful opportunities to mentor youth through homework help or skill-sharing. Whether you have technical skills to offer “tech support” or hands-on knowledge for a “fix-it” workshop, your time is a valuable gift to local students.
3. Local Beautification
You don’t have to wait for Earth Day to show pride in our shared Canadian spaces. Organizing a small group of friends or family for a neighbourhood cleanup – especially during the spring melt – improves the area for everyone and protects local wildlife.
Pro-Tip!
