Book 3 of 2023

Generally I only rate books that are a three or above. I was drawn into this book and kept turning the pages for the meer fact that I was intrigued. It was more than just being curious about where the author was taking the story. It was as if I was reading an interesting news article or true crime novel. Even though I was discovering that I didn’t particularly like the novel or the characters I just had to keep turning the pages to uncover the crime. I had to find out what happened to Tullulah and Zak. I couldn’t help but get invested in the story alongside Sophie from the moment she finds the cardboard sign in the garden “dig here.” As the pages turned and turned I just couldn’t put this book down. I became invested in the story as I got the privilege to get to know each of the characters. Each one displayed a combination of very human traits. The secrets, lies, determination, curiosity, crime, and abusive nature of humans and their relationships come together to create this entangling story.

I would recommend this book to any one who enjoys true crime as this novel reads beautifully like one. This mystery will keep you turning the pages and enthralled to the end. Just when you think you have discovered a possibility or the answers you are looking for the twists come through with a vengeance.
