The Challenge: Audit Your Ears
Yesterday, we talked about the radical act of choosing your soundtrack. Today, we’re doing the work. I want you to spend 15 minutes today building your “Invincible” Playlist. This isn’t a collection of “nice” songs; this is a toolkit of emotional neuro-medicine.
The Template: 5 Tracks to Reclaim Your Power
To get you started, here is the “Invincible Template.” I’ve filled mine in with the songs that currently make me feel like I can conquer the world (or at least my laundry pile.)
- The “Power” Anchor: Witchy Woman by The Eagles
- Why: It’s moody, it’s grounded, and it reminds me of my own spark.
- The “Audacity” Track: Fuck You by Lily Allen.
- Why: Sometimes you need a song that is unapologetically blunt to snap you out of a “people-pleasing” spiral.
- The “Invincible & Sexy” Track: Seven Day Fool by Jully Black
- Why: It’s soulful and powerful. It’s impossible to feel small when this is playing.
- The Future-Self Frequency: Ahead of a Century by The Tragically Hip.
- Why: This is about the long game. It feels like wisdom, endurance, and the beautiful “mysterious” life we are all heading toward. It’s the sound of a version of me that has seen it all and is still standing.
- The Identity Anthem: This is Me (from the Greatest Showman.)
- Why: This is the ultimate “Wide-Angle Lens” song. It’s about standing in your “messy bits,” refusing to hide, and recognizing that you are a masterpiece exactly as you are.
How to Use Your Playlist
Don’t just listen to it when you’re happy. Use it as a Tactical Reset:
- The 1-Song Rule: If you feel a “micro-stress” coming on, you are required to play ONE song from this list before you’re allowed to make any big decisions.
- The Morning Ritual: Play your “Identity Anthem” while you get ready to set the frequency for the day.
- When You Are Celebrating a Small Victory: you are required to play ONE song from this list and dance your fabulous ass off to celebrate when you have a victory under your belt (no matter how big or small.)
Share the Vibe!
